Each Fall PVS staff hosts an open house and BBQ. This is a special event in which our Kindergarten and first grade students have the opportunity to show their families around their school and classrooms, and then enjoy a school provided picnic outside.
In December, Mrs. Camidge, holds a school wide book fair in which students get to experience a book store environment, browse through books, and if wanted, purchase books to keep and take home.
Each December, our music department hosts an evening at the PA gym where families are invited to listen to student performed music pieces.
Read Across America:
In February, we celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday (along with the rest of the United States) for an entire week! Each day we have fun way to celebrate together as a community.
Each Spring, students and families may visit PHS to experience and enjoy art on display. All art is produced by student artists.
Screen Free Week:
Each May, PVS participates in the National Screen free week. Students and teachers discuss the difference between using technology as tools vs. toys. The school hosts multiple evening events this week to encourage students and families to get out together.
Each May, students get to participate in a road race and or walk-a-thon. Kindergarten stays at PVS and does a walk-a-thon through town and school, and our 1st graders go up to PHS to participate in a road race with PHS students. This event is a fun way to encourage physical fitness and health.
Each June our students have the option to enter our school talent show. Students perform in front of families, and then again for their school community.
A couple times a year, the entire PVS school participates in Enrichment days. Teachers offer unique learning experiences such as finger knitting, gardening, basketball, cooking, animal studies at live and let live farm, card playing, etc. Students choose from these activities based on interest and spend an afternoon working, and learning hands on with staff.
